| Friend or Foe Have you ever gotten a rival, or someone who is your ultimate foe. Like Ichigo and Ulq, or Ichigo and Renji are. That person who every time you see them just shutters your bones, causes your pupils to dilate, you know that feeling you get when the creepy uncle invites you over to his house for light refreshments. Yes, I'm taking about good old fashion rp developing rivalry and nemesis. And hey, guess what, you get points for it as well.
Rivalry
- Must have known them for at least 5 separate topics, for no less than 15 posts.
- Must be of a similar nature, a shinigami with an arrancar rival, no can do.
- Must have sparred at least twice
- Must have a drive to win over said rival, if your rival always beats you, he does not consider you a rival. *But you can consider him one*
Nemesis
- Must have known him from at least 3 separate topics
- Nemesis must have done something to deserve being claimed as such
- Must not be dead, you can't claim someone was your nemesis after you kill them
- Must fight each time encountered each other (Ichigo and Grimmjaw)
- Must hate and or have desire to kill, if your nemesis is the Sotaicho and your a Taicho, you kinda have to not listen to them, and fight him/her every time you see them, ever time, without fail... no in meetings and shit.
Rival Rewards: Every time you defeat your rival in a spar, you can gain 25 points. Every time your rival defeats you, you can gain 10 points. Killing your rival gives you no points, he is someone you strive to beat, not kill. If your rival dies, again you get nothing. However, saving your rival nets you 40 points, I mean its a rival, whats not to love.
Nemesis Rewards Every time you defeat your nemesis in a fight, you gain 30 points. Every time your nemesis defeats you, you gain 15 points. Killing your nemesis nets you 50 points, nemesis retreating from you, whatever the reason, 20 points, you retreating from your nemesis, 8 points. And finally, the biggest catch of them all, you drawing first blood, 10 points.
Rivals and Nemesis are important to character growth and development, they are standards of every good story and background. They create a deeper and more real character than a stoic guy who kills everyone.
So give your character some real depth, a real persona, and an actual story that makes sense. Not some lone wolf who kills for pleasure, or a rapist who has a thing for girls, that is done, finito, over with. Its time to step up to the plate and reward good solid character development. And it starts with you. | |
